Shami Kebabs and Tea Masala

Join us for this very special edition of Cooking with Bunyaad LIVE from the Bunyaad Office & Warehouse in Lahore, Pakistan.

Yousaf will be joining us from the Bunyaad office and warehouse in Lahore, cooking with the staff of Bunyaad Pakistan and preparing this Pakistani afternoon tea menu complete with shami kebabs and tea masalaq. Shami kebabs are generally used for late afternoon snacks with tea or coffee but can be enjoyed at anytime especially breakfast and dinner. Shami kebabs are normally made with meat but can be made completely vegetarian and vegan as desired.

We will also lead you in making this special chai, Tea Masala, a personal recipe of Waheed, one of Bunyaad’s lead rug finishers. Tea Masala is a flavorful chai, spiced with everything from mace to fennel and completely dairy free.

Join Yousaf on a tour around the Bunyaad warehouse and finishing center while we cook. It’s going to be a busy cooking time but oh, so incredibly special!

Cook along or just watch as we weave stories of rugs, Pakistani artisans & fair trade into our cooking. Now that we’re traveling more with work, Cooking with Bunyaad is held once a month, usually on a Sunday. Please join our mailing list to get notifications of our free, online cooking times.
