    Delicious Meals on Gorgeous Rugs

    Chobi in kitchen nook

Entertaining friends and family are a natural extension of Bruce and John’s lives.

Cooking delicious meals is just one aspect of their generous hospitality. From brunch in the kitchen nook with sunlight streaming through the windows to elaborate dinners in their more formal dining room—YOU get to ENJOY.

Meals are prepared in the kitchen while standing on long Tribal Chobi runners. Oh, did I say “standing on rugs while cooking”? I sure did, because this is the other aspect of life at the home of John and Bruce. You will find Bunyaad rugs in all areas of the home.

Bright Colors, Intricate Designs and Fair Trade

    Bold design Persian

The new rug shipment just arrived and we are amazed. Bunyaad rug artisans in Pakistan keep surprising us over and over again.

You would think that we’d know what to expect when we open the bales. Craftsmanship and quality of wool and colors are always high. Yet this newest shipment shows again the incredible artistry of the rug artisans we work with.

  • Not Packing Book Bags…We’re Packing Rug Trucks!

Packing up our Rug TrucksAs kids pack up their book bags and head back to school, we here in the Bunyaad Rug Room are also busy packing up as we head into our Fair Trade Rug Event fall season.

    What is a Rug Event?

To make sure that everyone gets to enjoy the fair trade rug experience, we take our rugs on the road and travel to over 30 fair trade locations every year. For each event we organize up to 350 rugs from 2’x3′ to 10’x14′ to create temporary mobile fair trade rug stores across the US and Canada. With the help of volunteers and staff at the hosting locations, we are able to set up and afterwards tear down our rug piles in roughly two hours!

    Need Your Bunyaad Rug Cleaned?

    Rug with stains

Have a dirty Bunyaad rug and not wanting to wash it yourself? No worries! We’ll wash it for you!

    How Does It Work?

For $4/square foot ($50 minimum charge), we will wash your rug and bring it back to cleanliness! From cleaning and brightening fringes, washing the pile with Dr. Bronner’s fair trade soap and addressing any particular problem spots with our bag of time-learned stain removal tricks, our skilled team of rug cleaners will not stop until they feel they have gotten the rug as clean as possible!

We are happy to clean any Bunyaad rug as we know what has gone into producing your one-of-a-kind, fairly traded hand-knotted rug (and we know what we can throw at it when we find pesky stains). We know that you can wash these rugs at home but we also know many of you are pleased to have someone else deal with a heavy, wet rug and pesky stains.

    Ephrata Rug Room under Renovation

RenoStaffThe Bunyaad Rug Room at Ten Thousand Villages in Ephrata is under a major renovation… painting, new flooring, the works!… but guess who is doing most of the reno…. Rug Room staff! We are finding that many of our staff have incredible hidden skills in painting tedious edges, organizing major fixture moves and otherwise keeping after a group of willing painters!

Reno started today (updates being posted on our facebook page) and we quickly found that keeping after desk work while painting was quite difficult, especially when we had to disconnect our internet downstairs in order to paint the wall behind the router. 🙂 We will be closing this Saturday, August 1, at 3 p.m. so that we can really start making some major messes… and then we will reopen on Saturday, August 8 at 10 a.m.
