Ephrata Rug Room under Renovation
The Bunyaad Rug Room at Ten Thousand Villages in Ephrata is under a major renovation… painting, new flooring, the works!… but guess who is doing most of the reno…. Rug Room staff! We are finding that many of our staff have incredible hidden skills in painting tedious edges, organizing major fixture moves and otherwise keeping after a group of willing painters!
Reno started today (updates being posted on our facebook page) and we quickly found that keeping after desk work while painting was quite difficult, especially when we had to disconnect our internet downstairs in order to paint the wall behind the router. 🙂 We will be closing this Saturday, August 1, at 3 p.m. so that we can really start making some major messes… and then we will reopen on Saturday, August 8 at 10 a.m.
But our Online Rug Room will continue to be open, the Rug Rooms at Ten Thousand Villages in Souderton, PA, Winnipeg, MB, and Oakville, ON will all be open AND our friends at Ten Thousand Villages in Mechanicsburg, PA, will be featuring over 150 Bunyaad rugs all 30-50% off starting Tuesday, August 4 through Saturday, August 8 — Many places to still enjoy shopping for Bunyaad rugs.
Stay tuned for our new look… Anxious to unveil the fresh look!

When working in the rug room, we hear many of the same fears over and over again and yet by the time most folks leave, they have some peace of mind. Are these some of your concerns?
If Natalie Merchant’s twirling days from the 10,000 Maniacs could be translated into a rug, that would be my style. My husband, on the other hand, is the type of guy that that never lets a beard/moustache growing project get the slightest bit untrimmed, perfects the blue shirt look and shines his daily wear shoes. So, how in the world would we find a rug that spoke to both of us, that represented both of us and in turn represented us as a couple?
We enjoyed a great time in Pakistan. Everywhere we went we met friendly, helpful and incredibly hospitable people. It seemed like everyone wanted to shake our hands and give us a hug. On Sunday afternoon, while touring the old Lahore Fort, a number of people wanted their pictures taken with us. Contrary to what we hear and read in the media about Pakistan, it’s a great place to travel – safe, friendly, hospitable and very scenic.
