Join Us for Chai with the Rug Guy
Thursday, September 17 at 6 pm
Spend an evening learning the history & importance of hand knotted rugs all while watching two types of chai being made. A special one-on-one time with Bunyaad Rug Represenative Amir Chaman as part of our Annual Fair Trade Rug Event.

Tea time is an integral part of every Pakistani workplace & household. Tea is always served piping hot and drunk while piping hot. Biscuits of some form always adorn the side of your cup. There are many different forms of chai but this evening we are looking forward to introducing you to two of our favorite types. Seating is limited so that the chai can be free flowing.
Prepare For The Rug Event
We host this special rug event to bring these high quality, fairly traded hand-knotted rugs to your community. Since the rugs will be here for just a few days, we encourage you to do a little prep.
- When you visit our rug event, bring swatches of materials and upholstery, paint chips and pillows to help you choose a rug that will blend with your decor.
- Measure your room as well as the area you would want your rug to cover. Large rugs are impressive while smaller rugs can be more versatile. Be flexible in sizing and you will increase the number of rugs to choose from.
- Remember that a rug made with high quality materials will last for generations, while your furniture, upholstery and home will change.
- Consider rugs that speak to you, rather than one that simply matches its surroundings. Be open to taking rugs home on approval, keeping in mind the rug you finally choose may not be the rug you first selected.
Share with your Friends and Neighbors
It’s an event not to miss as these fairly traded rugs represent a win-win situation for all.
