On March 8, 2025, we were thrilled to have so many people join us online as Yousaf and Jenni took us with them as they journeyed through Pakistan. Our North American friends met Bunyaad rug artisans and experienced the magic of rug finishing and designing right before their eyes. It was the perfect adventure to...

We enjoyed a great time in Pakistan. Everywhere we went we met friendly, helpful and incredibly hospitable people. It seemed like everyone wanted to shake our hands and give us a hug. On Sunday afternoon, while touring the old Lahore Fort, a number of people wanted their pictures taken with us. Contrary to what we hear and read in the media about Pakistan, it’s a great place to travel – safe, friendly, hospitable and very scenic.

We got up early on Sunday morning and went with Yousaf and Ehsan to the flower market. Ehsan goes every Sunday morning to buy flowers for the church service at St. John’s church in Saeed Park, right across the street from the Chaman family home.

Since we got back at 3 am from Jared we started late today. Before heading to the office we drove around Lahore for some sightseeing.

After a good breakfast of eggs, paratha, chicken and chai, we left our PTDC Hotel in Balakot and headed north toward Jared. We crossed the Naran River at Malakandi and then followed the river up to Jared with fantastic mountain views along the way.
