Cooking with Bunyaad Kashmiri Chai & Nankhatai
It’s almost 3 p.m. at the Bunyaad Warehouse and Finishing Center in Lahore, Pakistan and that means it’s tea time!
Tea time is an integral part of every Pakistani household. Most children begin drinking very milky chai from their bottles when they are young. Tea is always served piping hot and drunk while piping hot. Biscuits of some form always adorn the side of your cup.
There are many different forms of chai but one of the most special is the pink Kashmiri chai, either served slightly salty or sweet depending on your taste and topped with crushed nuts.
Oh, and fresh nankhatai from the local bakery melt in your mouth and finish just as fast as your tea. These two recipes are perfect to make and share with friends.
